The Women of Weed

A Council of the Colorado Cannabis Chamber of Commerce

Our Mission

The Women of Weed (WOW) was founded to provide business women with the tools, community, and resources necessary to overcome the unique hurdles presented by the emerging cannabis industry. The Council’s focus is to provide an inclusive, enriching, educational and supportive environment for women in cannabis (and the men who work with them).

The Chamber

The Council is part of the Colorado Cannabis Chamber of Commerce, a nonprofit organization consisting of Colorado employers focused on Cannabis business policies at the Federal and State levels of government. Formed in 2014, C4 is focused on promoting and protecting the licensed and regulated cannabis industry in Colorado.

The Philosophy

As we work together to overcome the stigmatization of cannabis, we’re also forging new ground as female business owners, executive directors, marketing gurus, budtenders, accountants, event planners, scientists, investors, politicians, and more. From tackling large-scale cannabis issues to providing workshops, mentoring opportunities, job fairs, and seminars with powerful guest speakers, the council hopes to be a source of strength and empowerment for both the present and the future female leaders of the cannabis industry.

MARIJUANA AND WOMEN: WILL INDUSTRY SET A NEW STANDARD FOR GENDER EQUALITY?

“[WOW] is not focused on networking and it’s not an entrepreneur class. It’s a resource, not a support group, for women who are in this very challenging, isolating business where you’re dealing with social stigmas and taboos.”

Women in Cannabis

“The question isn’t who is going to let me, it’s who is going to stop me.”
